Medication for Rudra Prasad Amagain

| amount: | US$ 420 |
| frequency: | annually |
| start date: | 01 / 2008 |
| country: | Nepal |
| project status: | in progress |

Mr. Rudra Prasad Amagain is a 36 years old man, born in a remote area of Nepal called Gorkha. He has been suffering from heart problems for 10 years. Finally the doctor advised him to have a heart operation. Because Rudra couldn’t afford insurance and the Nepalese government doesn’t provide it either, he had to pay the operation himself. That’s why Rudra sold almost all his property and tried to accumulate donations from different organizations as well as from his friends. Also the SGNHC hospital provided him 50% discount for his surgery. So in the end, he managed to pay the fee.
The procedure went well, but since that day Rudra has to take regular medication to support his weak heart. As he sold his property to finance his operation, he cannot afford the medicine anymore. Also it became much harder for him to provide food and education for his two children.
Xabbel is supporting Rudra and his family with US$35 each month, to make life a bit easier for them.
Support For Woman Education Center
![]() | |
| amount: | US$ 700 |
| frequency: | once |
| start date: | 10 / 2007 |
| country: | Ethiopia |
| project status: | complete |
| financing: | complete |
Since 1999 this center has trained more than 700 women. Most of them are now able to earn their own living and therefore they are less dependent - in this male dominated society - on men. The education center also trains orphan girls and gives them hope for the future.
We believe that this project is the right approach to a sustainable development for the region. Women are still deprived in Ethiopia and the Education Center in Endaselassie is a good approach to tackle this problem.
Paying School Fees for Sonam Lama
![]() | |
| amount: | US$ 260 |
| frequency: | annually |
| start date: | 08 / 2007 |
| country: | Nepal |
| project status: | in progress |
| financing: | complete |
The Lama family do not starve, but they have hardly any cash left by the end of the month. For example, there isn't enough money to send their 6-year-old son to school. In a country like Nepal, this means that little Sonam Lama would have a poor chance for a decent life in his future.
Xabbel is financing the school fees and all other costs which are connected to the school education of Sonam Lama. We are planning to do this until Sonam has finished his educational career.
Surgery Of Anita Shrestha

| amount: | US$ 400 |
| frequency: | once |
| start date: | 06 / 2007 |
| country: | Nepal |
| project status: | complete |
| financing: | complete |
Because Anita's family never had enough money to finance any treatment, her injury got worse and worse as time went by and today she is unable to walk.
When Anita was 7 years old, her parents heard about the SKM Hospital, which is located near Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Thanks to foreign donations this hospital can provide surgeries at western standards to locals for an affordable fee.
Because of the severity of her injury, Anita has to stay in hospital for at least 6 months. The Xabbel Foundation finances the treatment of Anita Shestra at the SKM hospital to help make her walk again.
